The Shoes of The Gospel Of Peace

The Shoes of The Gospel Of Peace

Key Scripture: Ephesians 6:15

“And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace.”
— Ephesians 6:15

INTRODUCTION

The Shoes of the Gospel of Peace are the third piece of the believer’s spiritual armor found in Ephesians 6:15.

The Apostle Paul makes us understand that we need the Shoes of Peace in order to stand firm and remain unshaken in spiritual warfare.

Our feet help us to stand, remain stable, and move forward. Therefore, Paul connects our feet with the Gospel of Peace, showing us that peace is not merely something we feel—it becomes part of how we stand, walk, and advance as believers.

A. WHAT ARE THE SHOES OF PEACE?

Understanding the Shoes of Peace involves three important principles:

1. PREPARATION

As believers, we must always remain spiritually prepared.

📖 1 Peter 1:13–16

We prepare ourselves through:

  • The Word of God
  • Prayer
  • Faith
  • Obedience
  • Fellowship with Christ
  • Knowledge of the Gospel

KEY TRUTH:

Spiritual preparation gives the believer stability and readiness.

When we continually prepare ourselves spiritually, our feet are ready to wear the Shoes of the Gospel of Peace.

2. PEACE

The Gospel announces reconciliation between God Almighty and humanity through Jesus Christ.

📖 Romans 5:1

Our first and greatest peace is peace with God.

KEY TRUTH:
You cannot truly walk in the peace of God until you understand the peace you have with God through Jesus Christ.

3. MOVEMENT

After preparation and peace, we become ready to move.

We do not receive the Gospel simply to sit with it. We are called to carry and proclaim it.

📖 Mark 16:15
📖 Isaiah 52:7

A disciple wearing the Shoes of Peace becomes a carrier of the Good News.

DECLARATION:
I am prepared, established in peace, and ready to carry the Gospel wherever God sends me.

B. WHY DID THE APOSTLE PAUL USE THE FEET?

Paul uses the feet to describe this piece of armor because feet symbolize:

* Direction
* Stability
* Movement
* Advancement

1. FEET SPEAK OF WALKING

📖 Psalm 119

The Gospel should influence the way we walk and live.

As disciples of Christ, we cannot preach peace while constantly walking in:

* Unforgiveness
* Hatred
* Rebellion
* Bitterness
* Division

KEY TRUTH:
The Gospel we preach must be reflected in the life we live.

2. FEET SPEAK OF STABILITY

The Shoes of Peace help the believer remain spiritually stable when circumstances seem unstable.

📖 Psalm 37:23–24

There may be seasons when everything around you feels uncertain, but the peace of God gives you the ability to remain standing.

DECLARATION:
I will not slip. I will not fall. My steps are established by the Lord.

3. FEET SPEAK OF MOVEMENT AND ADVANCEMENT

📖 Romans 10:15

God wants His people to go forward and not remain in the same place.

The Gospel is not meant to be hidden. It is meant to be carried.

KEY TRUTH:
Those who wear the Shoes of Peace are called to advance and carry the Good News to others.

C. PEACE WITH GOD IS THE FOUNDATION OF PEACE WITH MAN

Before we can bring peace to others, we must first understand the peace that God has given to us.

📖 John 14:27

Jesus gives us a peace that is different from the temporary peace offered by the world.

The peace of Christ is not dependent on circumstances.

📖 Philippians 4:7

The peace of God guards:

* Your heart
* Your mind
* Your emotions
* Your actions
* Your decisions

KEY TRUTH:
The peace of God can do for you what the peace of the world cannot do.

The Shoes of Peace help us remain spiritually guarded, stable, and composed, even during difficult seasons.

D. PEACE DOES NOT MEAN THE ABSENCE OF BATTLE

Ephesians 6 speaks about spiritual warfare, yet the Apostle Paul instructs believers to wear the Shoes of Peace.

This teaches us an important truth:

YOU CAN BE IN A BATTLE AND STILL NOT LOSE YOUR PEACE.

Our Lord Jesus Christ faced persecution, opposition, and rejection, yet He remained in peace.

📖 Isaiah 26:3

God will keep us in perfect peace when our minds remain focused on Him and when we trust in Him.

KEY TRUTH:
Peace does not mean the absence of battles. Peace means having spiritual stability in the midst of battles.

FINAL DECLARATION

In the Name of Jesus,

I receive the grace to stand firm and remain unshaken.

My feet are prepared with the Gospel of Peace.

I walk in peace.

I stand in peace.

I carry peace.

I advance with the Gospel.

My heart and mind are guarded by the peace of God.

I will not be moved by circumstances.

I will not lose my peace in the midst of battles.

No matter what I face, I will remain spiritually stable.

My steps are ordered by the Lord, and I will advance in victory.

In Jesus’ Name, Amen!
