Uprooting Evil Arrows

- KEY SCRIPTURE: EPHESIANS 6:16
Ephesians 6:16 emphasizes that the enemy is always releasing fiery darts at us.
When the enemy releases arrows at us, he is trying to attack our lives so that he can weaken our belief in God’s protective power.
Some of these fiery darts include disappointment, failure, temptation, condemnation, death, trials, high blood pressure, all forms of sickness, confusion, and division. These arrows are countless. We cannot say that these arrows are not around us simply because we do not see them. This is why we need faith in God’s protective shield.
The purpose of these attacks is to destroy you and steal your peace. But what we must remember is that our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the evil rulers of darkness, as stated in Ephesians 6:12.
FAITH: OUR SHIELD AGAINST THE ENEMY
We should always have it in mind that God has given us a shield called faith.
Faith is our protection against the attacks of the wicked. This means that we must learn to live and operate in faith.
When the enemy releases arrows at us, our faith is what shields us.
The shield does not mean that the arrows of the wicked will never come. They will come, but they will not have the final victory over us.
THE PROTECTION OF GOD
Psalm 91:5–6 says:
“Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day; nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.”
The Psalmist makes us understand that we should not be afraid of the arrows that come against us because we have protection that shields us.
When sickness says, “You will not recover,” faith says, “I will not be afraid because the Lord is with me.”
Our confidence should not be in our own strength, but in Jesus Christ, who is the Healer and Deliverer.
FAITH OVER FEAR
God wants you to live in faith and not in fear.
Many times, we live in fear of the unknown. We worry about what might happen, what we cannot see, and what tomorrow may bring. But Psalm 91 repeatedly reminds us of God’s protection.
Therefore, when spiritual attacks come, our response should not be fear, panic, or intimidation.
Our response should be faith, prayer, and trust in God.
THE ARROWS MAY COME, BUT THEY WILL NOT HAVE THE FINAL SAY
All you need is faith to shield yourself.
The arrows of the wicked may come, but they cannot have the final say in your life.
The attack may come, but God’s protection and His power to deliver are greater and bigger than every attack.
So, raise your shield of faith. Do not allow fear to take the place of faith. Trust in the character, promises, power, faithfulness, Word, and purpose of God.
The enemy may release the arrow, but God has given you a shield.
